Live Wedding Painting

Congratulations on your engagement!

As you prepare for one of life’s most cherished moments, please consider hiring me to paint the magic of your special day. As a live painter, I will capture the happiness of your wedding as it unfolds, while also providing entertainment for your guests. In the end, you will have a colorful canvas to hang in your home, serving as a daily reminder of your love.

Two wedding paintings on display, featuring close-up scenes of couples in wedding attire. One painting shows the couple holding hands and smiling outdoors, while the other depicts them in a close embrace on what appears to be a staircase or building entrance.

The Process

  • If you're interested in a live wedding painting, please submit an inquiry below. We’ll discuss your vision for the painting and how I can be part of your wedding day. To confirm your booking, a signed contract and 25% retainer are required.

  • I may arrive 2 to 3 hours prior to the ceremony or reception to set up and paint the background. As decorations are placed and guests arrive, I’ll transfer them to the canvas.

I will take reference photos of the couple when the time is right, and spend 5 to 6 additional hours painting on-site. By the end of the evening, you’ll have a canvas that captures the day. However, my work doesn’t end there!

  • Due to the nature of oil paints, the painting will still be wet and require some extra love to become a finished product. I will spend a few months painting, revising, glazing, drying, and varnishing the art in my studio. Once approved, I’ll safely ship or deliver the canvas to your doorstep. This memento will be ready to hang and light up your home for years to come.

FAQs

  • How would you describe your painting style?

Semi-realistic/impressionistic with a colorful, gestural background and a detailed focal point. You can peruse my portfolio for examples of my work.

  • Will you travel to our wedding?

Of course! I will travel to virtually any wedding location. An additional fee may apply to locations outside of New York City or Long Island.

  • How much space do you require at the event?

I only need a 5 ft by 5 ft space, an outlet, and a water source. I supply the rest (the easel, paints, drop cloth, etc.).

  • Do you paint everything live?

I paint the first layer of the painting live. I take plenty of reference photos or videos so that I may capture your likeness on the wedding day and in the studio, rather than working entirely from memory. Back in the studio, I will paint additional layers to finish the work.

  • Do your paintings come framed?

No, but they don’t need to be! My paintings are cradled wood panels with 7/8 in. finished edges, meaning they may be displayed as is. However, it is possible for you to bring the canvas to a professional framer if desired.

  • How many people can we include in the painting?

Two completed faces are included in the pricing. A colorful crowd can be included in the background, but additional detailed figures will include an additional fee.

  • What materials do you use?

Oil paint on cradled wood panels.

  • Will you interact with our guests?

Yes, guests are welcome to ask questions and peek over my shoulder. I know that your family and friends are important to you, and I will treat them with the utmost kindness!
